We regret to inform you that the lecture by San Rocco (Wednesday May 4 2016, 17h) is cancelled.

However, the finissage of the 'Book of Copies' exhibition + drinks will take place!!!

San Rocco and the KU Leuven Faculty of Architecture are happy to announce the sixth iteration of the Book of Copies exhibition, curated by Pierpaolo Tamburelli, Andrea Zanderigo, Giovanni Piovene and Jan De Vylder.

Book of Copies comprises sets of A4 black-and-white photocopies made available to viewers to copy and assemble; becoming receptacles of a collective form of knowledge provisionally called “architecture”. Organized according to a precise set of rules by a multitude of producers, the books of copies are based on an inherently derivative and collective effort, starting with a simple act of accumulating formal knowledge, namely “collecting”. This exhibition was developed in collaboration with the Architectural Association, London.

Faculty of Architecture, campus Sint-Lucas Brussels, Paleizenstraat 65, 1030 Brussels.

Inauguration on April 13, 17h00. Free visit on weekdays from 9h00 till 18h00 from April 14 till May 4.

Lecture series Book of Copies

  • Accattone (Wednesday April 20 2016, 17h)
Accattone is an independent editorial project based in Brussels. It is a dedicated space for architecture documents: an interview, a visual essay, a drawing, are laid out as fragments of a montage transversal to the issue. Contents are manipulated mostly through their visual condition. From their sheer confrontation, several themes emerge. The printed format and its slow periodicity combine the characteristics of the work-in-progress with the finiteness of the object. Read more.
  • Posture (Wednesday April 27 2016, 17h)
Posture is a digital and print publication that explores identity, queerness, gender, sexuality, feminism, and race through fashion and artistic practice. The publication features projects and extraordinary individuals who challenge social norms and ways of being. The mission is to encourage a heightened consciousness for how we view ourselves and others. Read more. Read more.
  • San Rocco ( Wednesday May 4 2016, 17h) + finissage
San Rocco is a "magazine about architecture... written by architects. As such, San Rocco is not particularly intelligent, or philologically accurate. In San Rocco, pictures are more important than texts." For each issue, San Rocco puts out a 'call for papers' comprised of an editorial note and of a list of cases, each followed by a short comment. External contributions take different forms: Essays, illustrations, designs, comic strips and novels are all equally suitable for publication. Read more.
